The estimate of labor market conditions in terms of economic crisis by representatives of small and medium businesses
The crisis situation in Belarus has already been lasting for a few years now. Macroeconomic instability has direct influence on nation’s welfare through the labor market. Over the past year the term of vacancies’ closing has increased, especially if these vacancies have high administrative position or have narrow specialization with very high professional level of specialist. Tangible economic crisis consequences force the business representatives to optimize costs which are connected not only with production but with labor resources. It considers not only the decrease of bonuses and privileges’ size but the decrease of quantity of work hours, salary and dismissals as a last resort. Increased level of officially registered unemployment points at it. Herewith employers denote the procedure’s simplification of new employees searching and high degree of conformity of labor force supply on labor market to its requests. Educational services are still not very popular among proprietors and directors of enterprises. In the main they train workers and employees but not management staff. Low popularity of business-education is confirmed by recognizability of business-schools and other institutions which provide appropriate educational services.
The study is based on survey results of small and medium businesses which was held by the Laboratory of axiometric studies NOVAK in April-May 2016 for IPM Research Center.
