PDP/13/05 Belarusian SMES and Eurasian Integration
Belarus' participation in the Eurasian integration – The Customs Union and The Common Economic Space - still has both positive and negative consequences for the national economy. In general, the risk of declining competitiveness of Belarusian enterprises (even in comparison with Russia and Kazakhstan) increases every year. This is noted by representatives of the Belarusian small and medium-sized businesses. On the one hand, they consider the Eurasian integration as a positive process. On the other hand, they still are not able to expand their business, go beyond the boundaries of the national market and take all the benefits of the common economic space.
