The macroeconomic progress of Belarus of the recent five years has overshadowed social issues. This book, prepared by the IPM Research Center, attempts to draw the public attention back to the issue of public social security services. The book presents the analysis of the stability of the pension system amid negative demographic trends in Belarus, the public opinion on this issue, and a brief review of pension reforms carried out in the world. This study does not provide a ready-made recipe for pension reform in the country, but it can serve as a baseline for further public and expert discussion on the areas of changes in the pension system in Belarus.
